What can I expect?
Dr. Tracy Sher and Dr. Ginger Garner discuss the gap between pelvic health and sports medicine for the hip. If you are seeing patients in the pelvic health field - physicians, PT, OT, fitness - it can be vital to understand the basics of hip pathology. There are times when hip pathology is directly related to pelvic floor symptoms. In other cases, it is important to know if it is an additional diagnosis, but not necessarily the driver of pelvic floor symptoms. Or maybe we are completely ruling OUT hip pathology with the right testing. We can help patients tremendously in all of these scenarios.
What will learn?
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify a minimum of 3 manual tests to differentiate hip from pelvic floor pathology
- Recognize when hip pain is incidental vs. causative in pelvic conditions
- Apply clinical reasoning to determine when direct hip intervention is necessary
Feel comfortable navigating psychosocial nuances while learning practical skills to do so.
