GPHAM EXPERT WEBINAR SERIES
No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimate Requirements for Your Private Practice
Tracy Sher presents with special guest expert Nancy Beckley
What can I expect?
Did you know there are new regulations that go into effect January 1, 2022, and if YOU own a private practice in health care, this is something you should know - particularly if you have "cash services" or are out of network in any way.
The primary goal of the No Suprises Act is to stop major surprises when someone receives their medical bills (for example - you go to an ER that is in-network for you but then receive other bills from out of network physicians you saw there that are high but were never told about this ahead of time).
Effective January 1, 2022, a provider must provide a self-pay patient with the notice and Good Faith Estimate (GFE) prior to all scheduled services or by request if the patient is shopping for care (and not yet at the point of scheduling).
Nancy Beckley, an esteemed expert on compliance rules in health care and rehab services, is joining us again to provide a "quickie" version of all we need to know to make sure we are compliant with the new regulations. We had many questions in our GPHAM group and Nancy has been so helpful!

What You Will Learn:
We will cover topics relating to:
- What exactly are the No Surprises Act and Good Faith Requirements (GFE)?
- When does all of this apply to cinics that are "self pay" vs "insurance-based" or all the same rules?
- Do we need to post prices on our websites?
- Do we need to have that good faith statement on our website AND visible in our office?
- If we have done the above - do we also need to have a form that we provide to each patient - and if so- is this ONLY if they ask; and can it be general with prices or does it have to give the plan of care estimate pricing?
