What can I expect?

"Hysterectomy has evolved—but has recovery kept pace? While surgical techniques and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols have transformed perioperative care, many women continue to experience persistent pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, urinary and bowel symptoms, sexual dysfunction, weakness, and delayed return to meaningful activities after surgery. Rehabilitation remains one of the most underutilized components of postoperative hysterectomy care.

In this one-hour webinar, you'll explore the evidence supporting post-hysterectomy rehabilitation, practical rehabilitation principles that can be implemented in clinical practice, and the emerging role of rehabilitation providers in optimizing recovery. We'll also discuss how clinicians can advocate for earlier rehabilitation, build collaborative relationships with surgeons and healthcare teams, and help establish postoperative rehabilitation pathways that improve patient outcomes.

Whether you're new to post-surgical care or looking to expand your expertise, this webinar will provide actionable insights into the future of hysterectomy recovery—and how you can help lead the change."

What will learn?

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Describe common functional impairments following hysterectomy and the evidence supporting rehabilitation.
  • Apply foundational principles of post-operative rehabilitation to optimize recovery.
  • Identify strategies to advocate for and implement rehabilitation as a standard component of post-hysterectomy care.
  • Recognize opportunities to collaborate with surgeons and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
Feel comfortable navigating psychosocial nuances while learning practical skills to do so.
